“With the first two drill holes complete, our team has confirmed the Si2 property hosts an epithermal alteration system. The two holes have intersected zoned alteration which has allowed us to vector towards the heart of the alteration at the southern target area, where we are extremely encouraged with the levels of silicification and sulphide content we have observed in the system….Our geophysical models have been validated by these first two holes,” stated Anthony Margarit, President, and CEO of K2 Gold. K2 intends to use the net proceeds raised from the Offering for exploration and ongoing permitting on the company's Mojave Gold project located in Inyo County, California, USA, as well as for general working capital. On January 15, 2024, Omineca Mining and Metals Ltd. has restarted underground mining operations at Wingdam. All the necessary equipment, consumables, ground support materials and staffing are on site, with mining activities under way as the company's mining partner advances through bedrock toward channel crosscut No. 3. Omineca further reports that its former option partner, Hamilton Gold Royalties (HGR), has completed its internal reorganization, resulting in its largest investor, D&L Mining, assuming HGR's position in the option/joint venture arrangement for the development of Omineca's underground placer project subject to the same terms and conditions as with HGR. While the reorganization was being completed, D&L assumed control and has been maintaining the underground workings, keeping the project fully dewatered. During this time, D&L also completed a comprehensive underground survey and geotechnical drilling to further confirm the course of the gold-bearing paleochannel. On January 17, 2024, K2 Gold Corp. has released the results from rock grab and chip sampling at its Mojave project, located in Inyo county, California. Highlights: Sampling at the Gold Valley target located on the east side of the property returned grab samples of 208 g/t (6.7 oz/t) gold and 32.1 g/t gold from initial prospecting.Gold Valley is located 1.5km north-northwest along the same structure as the Dragonfly target, a high-grade gold zone which K2 successfully drilled in 2020 with a highlight result of 86.9m of 4.0 g/t gold from surface. The mineralized corridor from the Newmont, Dragonfly, and the Gold Valley targets now extends for over 4.5km.Sampling at the Soda Canyon target in the northwest of the Project area returned a sample grading 1.87% copper, and two additional samples with greater than 1% copper which are currently in the process of overlimit analysis. "The sample collected at Gold Valley is the highest-grade rock sample ever collected on the Mojave Project by a significant margin, the overlimit copper results at Soda Canyon are also very exciting to see. The expanse of high-grade near surface mineralization at Mojave displays the signature characteristics of a remarkable deposit. The combination of these recent samples and previous drill results expanding the strike length over 4.5km suggests significant scale and the possible continuity of high-grade gold far beyond our original expectations," stated Anthony Margarit, CEO of K2 Gold. "As we continue with the EIS permitting process, we look forward to generating more exciting results at these new extensions." On December 21, 2023, K2 Gold Corp. has provided a year-end summary of its activities at its three properties and outlined its objectives and milestones for the 2024 season. "Two thousand twenty-three was an exciting year of exploration for K2 Gold, drilling two of three projects in the company's portfolio. The season began with a drill program at the company's Si2 project in Nevada. The diamond drilling at Si2 successfully demonstrated that the Si2 epithermal system is gold-bearing. The broad (185-metre) mineralized drill intercept encountered indicates that the hydrothermal system that created the extensive property-wide steam-heated alteration at surface mobilized a tremendous amount of gold-bearing fluid. "Next, the company returned to the Wels project in Yukon territory, completing 12 reverse circulation drill holes designed as a proof of concept, as well as to expand the known mineralization footprint at the Wels. The program returned compelling high-grade gold intercepts, defined new mineralized structures at all zones tested and confirmed the mineralization model. 2024 objectives:
On December 13, 2023, K2 Gold Corp. has released exploration drill results from its 2023 reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Wels project, located in west-central Yukon Territory 60 kilometres south of Newmont's Coffee gold deposit. These results demonstrate the presence of a mineralized system of significant size and scale at the Wels project. Highlights: First ever drilling at Chai target defines a greater-than-270-metre wide corridor hosting multiple mineralized structures: 0.827 grams per tonne Au over 13.72 m in WRC23-007 from 76.20 m down hole, including 3.63 g/t Au over 1.53 m. Reconnaissance drilling at the Pekoe target intersected 0.411 g/t Au over 38.10 m in WRC23-011 from 9.14 m down hole; the first pierce point into a greater-than-900-metre-long structure. All 2023 RC holes intersected gold mineralization, and all structures drilled to date remain open along strike and at depth. "Using a proof-of-concept approach, the 2023 Wels drill program demonstrated the existence of a structurally controlled gold system nearly three square kilometres in size. This successfully expands the known footprint of mineralization on the property by 1,000 per cent. To date, less than 40 per cent of the Wels property has been explored, and all existing targets remain open along strike and at depth. Based on these positive results a systematic property-wide exploration program is being planned to explore and target high grade zones within these newly defined gold bearing structures," said Anthony Margarit, president and chief executive officer of K2 Gold. On November 06, 2023, K2 Gold Corp. has released the first assay results from its 2023 reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Wels project, located in west-central Yukon 60 kilometres south of Newmont's Coffee gold deposit. Results from a proof-of-concept program consisting of six holes targeting the Saddle, Saddle North, and Saddle South Zones are reported herein, assays from six additional holes across the property are pending. Highlights:
"The results of the first assays from our 2023 drill program at the Wels have proven that the Saddle Zone hosts multiple stacked mineralized structures over a more than 400m wide corridor which remains fully open along strike to the west, east, and at depth The program was a successful proof-of-concept and confirms that our exploration strategy is working. We were successful in discovering an entirely new set of mineralized structures, which significantly expanded the footprint of mineralization. The dataset we have complied combined with these new discoveries suggest the system extends hundreds of metres along strike." stated Anthony Margarit, CEO of K2 Gold. On October 03, 2023, K2 Gold Corp. has completed its 2023 reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its Wels project, located in west-central Yukon, 60 kilometres south of Newmont's Coffee gold deposit and 23 km east of a road-accessible staging area. The K2 team is made up of a group with extensive Yukon experience, including members of the discovery and early development teams of Kaminak Gold Corp.'s (now Newmont's) Coffee gold deposit, and Underworld Resources' (now White Gold Corp.'s) White Gold deposit. "The 2023 RC drill program was designed to test five target areas across the property. A combination of efficient drilling and logistics led to a 25-per-cent increase in metres drilled and allowed K2 to drill two holes more than planned. A total of 12 holes were drilled, with mineralization observed in all holes, several of which test kilometre-scale structures. We look forward to releasing assay results to the public in the near future," stated Anthony Margarit, president and chief executive officer of K2 Gold. Highlights:
On September 12, 2023, K2 Gold Corp.'s 2023 reverse circulation (RC) drilling program is under way at its 100-per-cent-owned Wels project, located in west-central Yukon, Canada. "The Wels project represents one of the best underexplored gold systems within the Tintina gold belt and Yukon. High-grade gold mineralization was drilled in 2015 and 2017 over 125 metres of strike at a single target area, with the remainder of the property left undrilled. The Mag-VLF [magnetic/very low frequency] survey we completed last summer defined completely untested structural targets adjacent to high-grade gold at surface and in the previous drilling as well as multiple untested kilometre-scale structures with coincident high-grade soil and rock anomalies. We look forward unleashing the expertise of our technical team's Yukon experience on the Wels project," stated Anthony Margarit, president and chief executive officer of K2 Gold. The Wels project is a high-grade, structurally controlled gold system that exhibits characteristics similar to projects in the Yukon's White Gold district, such as Newmont's Coffee project and White Gold Corp.'s Golden Saddle deposit. K2's previous drilling at Wels was focused on the Saddle target, testing 125 metres of strike. Highlights included near-surface high-grade intervals such as 10.38 grams per tonne gold over six metres from nine metres downhole and 3.53 grams per tonne gold over 19.5 metres from 31.5 metres downhole. On September 07, 2023, The TSX Venture Exchange has accepted for filing documentation with respect to a non-brokered private placement announced on July 27, 2023. Number of shares: 8,756,666 charity flow-through (FT) shares Purchase price: 16 cents per charity FT share Number of placees: 25 placees Total existing insider involvement: 1,529,999 (four insiders) Total pro group involvement: 1.05 million (three pro groups) Finder's fee: $49,031.98 On July 27, 2023, K2 Gold Corp. has arranged a non-brokered private placement to raise gross proceeds of up to $1.2-million consisting of national charity flow-through shares offered at a price of 16 cents per charity FT share. K2 intends to use the gross proceeds of the offering for a reverse circulation drill program at the company's Wels gold project in Yukon, anticipated to begin at the beginning of September. On July 20, 2023, K2 Gold Corp. has provided an update for its 2023 exploration program at the Si2 project. The company has completed approximately 1,700 metres of diamond drilling over four drill holes within the southern target area, one of 10 target areas at the project identified through geological mapping, surficial geochemistry and geophysical surveys. Drilling is continuing at hole SD-23-004, which has been extended beyond the planned depth to test the limits of the alteration system. Highlights:
"K2 has confirmed the presence of a strong epithermal alteration system at Si2. We have successfully sampled broad intervals hosting multiple styles of strong sulphide mineralization, which could potentially host gold. This suggests that several faults within the southern target area have acted as hydrothermal superhighways, leading to intense alteration and sulphidation of the host rock. Essentially, we have drilled multiple phases of a new system, we have found the rocks we were hoping to find, and we are now waiting for assay results," stated Anthony Margarit, chief executive officer of K2 Gold.
