Matawinie: A Large Near-Surface Resource

On March 19, 2020, Nouveau Monde announced an updated Mineral Resource Estimate and increases combined Measured & Indicated resources by 25 % to 120.3 Mt @ 4.26 % Cg, for its West Zone Deposit, located in the Tony Claim Block, which is part of its Matawinie graphite property. Mineralization remains open at depth and both to the north and south. The current size and possibility to grow the resource beyond this is important in light of the coming growth in the EV and renewable energy sectors.

News Update

On April 13, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. has entered into partnership with NEL-i, a Quebec-based firm with expertise in climate action and GHG management solutions, to focus on three main initiatives, which represent the cornerstones of Nouveau Monde's climate action plan (CAP) and carbon-neutrality targets. These initiatives are outlined below and represent the path by which Nouveau Monde is now embarking to secure past, present and future carbon-neutral status.

On April 06, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. has appointed to its board Dr. Jurgen Kohler, effective April 1, 2021. Dr. Kohler was formerly the chief executive officer of SGL Carbon, one of the world's leading advanced graphite materials companies.

On March 29, 2021, Pursuant to a resolution approved by the shareholders of the company on March 23, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. has consolidated its capital on a one-new-for-10-old basis. The name of the company has not been changed. Effective at the opening of business on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, the common shares of the company will commence trading on the TSX Venture Exchange on a consolidated basis.

Also, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. has applied to list its common shares on the New York Stock Exchange. The listing of Nouveau Monde's common shares remains subject to the approval of the NYSE and the satisfaction of all applicable listing and regulatory requirements.

On March 24, 2021, In connection with its previously announced evaluation of an additional listing of the company’s common shares on a U.S. stock exchange, following the approval of its shareholders by a majority of 98.43 per cent, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. is implementing a consolidation (reverse stock split) of its outstanding common shares on the basis of one new common share for every 10 currently outstanding common shares.

On March 11, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. has completed a front-end loading engineering analysis (FEL-1) for phase 2 of its large-scale commercial lithium-ion anode material project in Becancour, Que., as it continues to execute its strategy of becoming the Western world's largest producer of high-quality anode materials to be used mainly in batteries for electrical vehicles and renewable energy storage. As it expands, Nouveau Monde preserves its firm commitment to carbon neutrality.

On February 24, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that the company is included within the 2021 TSX Venture 50®, a list of the top 50 companies listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.

On February 16, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that has retained Evercore Group LLC as its financial adviser to assist with the evaluation of a potential listing of the company's shares in the United States on either the New York Stock Exchange or the Nasdaq Stock Market.

On February 12, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. has closed the non-brokered private placement of common shares of the company previously announced on Jan. 13, 2021, and Jan. 20, 2021. The private placement was launched concurrently with the bought deal public offering of $17-million of the company, which closed on Jan. 20, 2021.

Pursuant to the private placement, the company issued a total of 3,965,516 common shares at a price of $1.45 per share for proceeds to the company of approximately $5.75-million.

On February 10, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that after following a rigorous environmental review, the Quebec government has issued a ministerial decree authorizing Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc.'s Matawinie mining project for a 100,000-tonne-per-annum high-purity graphite concentrate production. Located only 150 km north of Montreal, the Company's world-class deposit constitutes the largest projected graphite operation in North America and Europe and is expected to become the world's first all-electric open-pit mine.

On January 26, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. reported that in order to meet the demand from battery manufacturers seeking locally sourced and environmentally friendly materials, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. is advancing with the development of its portfolio of coated spherical purified graphite (CSPG) by setting up a production line with a planned capacity of up to 2,000 tonnes per year (phase 1) and continuing its research and development (R&D) initiatives.

On January 21, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. has provided an update on the buildout of the phase 1 operation at its move-in-ready space located in Becancour, Que. The company is targeting mid-2021 for the commencement of production of the first tonnes of high-purity spherical graphite destined for the high-growth EV (electric vehicles) and renewable energy sectors. Once fully ramped up, the nameplate capacity of phase 1 will be 1,500 tonnes per annum of purified material produced using the first two state-of-the-art commercial-scale modules. The company intends to use this initial production to advance its qualification process with major battery makers with the objective to secure long-term supply agreements.

On January 20, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that it has closed its bought deal public offering of C$17 million (the “Public Offering”), which forms part of the previously announced C$20 million financing. The Corporation expects the previously-announced C$5 million private placement launched concurrently with the Public Offering to close in early February 2021.

On January 06, 2021, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. has nominated David Torralbo to the position of chief legal officer and corporate secretary of the company.

On January 05, 2020, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that the company expects to obtain governmental authorization for its Matawinie graphite project early in the first quarter, enabling the construction of its commercial facilities and the completion of the construction and commissioning of its proprietary phase 1 purification facility for mid-2021 in Becancour, Que.

On December 31, 2020, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc.announced that the company has issued an aggregate of 766,351 common shares of its share capital at a price of $1.04 per common share, in settlement of interests owed on a secured convertible bond in the principal amount of $15-million issued by the corporation to Pallinghurst Graphite Ltd., as announced in the press release dated July 15, 2020.

On December 17, 2020, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that the company has delivered on its commitment to advance its vertically integrated graphite project in order to offer the electric vehicle (EV) and renewable energy sectors, ethically sourced and carbon-neutral, lithium-ion battery (LiB) anode material by 2023.

On November 30, 2020, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that it has nominated to its board of directors Nathalie Pilon and Jamie Scarlett effective on Dec. 1, 2020. After having accomplished significant contributions for Nouveau Monde during their respective mandate, Pierre Renaud and Marc Prud'homme are resigning from the board of directors.

On November 24, 2020, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that it is advancing its procurement process for its fleet and charging infrastructure through an international call for prequalification. This is yet another step toward achieving its carbon-neutrality vision, adopting an all-electric operating model provides tremendous environmental benefits as well as long-term savings for the Company thanks to Quebec's clean and affordable hydropower.

On November 18, 2020, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that Quebec Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Jonatan Julien kicked off the pilot project on battery materials traceability for which Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. has been selected as the sole and strategic battery material partner.

On November 12, 2020, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that it has completed an important technical program on its proprietary coating process with its research and development consortium, internal experts and raw material suppliers. Nouveau Monde's anode material has outperformed leading Asian commercial producers.

On November 5, 2020, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced that it has opened its first sales office outside of North America, located at 70 Pall Mall in St James's, London, United Kingdom.

On October 27, 2020, Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. announced significant milestone to commercialise its value-added and sustainable battery-grade anode graphite material.

On October 6, Nouveau Monde and Forge Nano signed a collaboration agreement for advanced coatings for Li-Ion batteries. Forge Nano is backed by industry leaders such as Volkswagen, LG Technology Ventures and Mitsui Kinzoku.
