Energizer Resources Inc. is a mineral exploration and mine development company based in Toronto, Canada, that is developing its 100%-owned, feasibility-stage Molo Graphite Project in southern Madagascar. Madagascar is a traditional producer, renowned for high-quality flake graphite.

The Company's February 2015 feasibility study validated the Molo graphite deposit as an economically viable project, outlining a 26-year mine life with annual average production of 53,017 tonnes of graphite concentrate.

The project anticipates a payback of less than 5 years with a post-tax Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of USD$389,797,000 and 31%, respectively.

Projects in Hand

Molo Graphite Project, Southern Madagascar

Energizer's 100%-owned Molo graphite project is located near the village of Fotadrevo in the Province of Toliara, southern Madagascar. The Molo graphite deposit is situated 160 kilometers (km) southeast of the city of Toliara, in the Tulear region of southwestern Madagascar and 220 km NW of the port town of Fort Dauphin.

Project Highlights and Advantages

  • Mine-ready, feasibility-stage project
  • Resource – very large and easily expandable

    Resources; above a 2% C cut-off

    Measured: 23.62 Mt at 6.32% carbon ("C")
    Indicated: 76.75 Mt at 6.25% C
    Measured & Indicated: 100.37 Mt at 6.27% C
    Inferred: 40.91 Mt at 5.78% C

The mineral resources above are inclusive of the mineral reserves below

    Reserves; above a 4.5% C cut-off

    Proven: 14.17 Mt at 7.00% carbon (C)
    Probable: 8.37 Mt at 7.04% C
    Proven & Probable: 22.44 Mt at 7.02% C
  • One of the world's largest flake graphite deposits with excellent flake-size distribution; able to meet market demand as required
    • Very high proportion (46.4%) of deposit is premium-priced large and jumbo sized flake
  • Molo's graphite concentrate has been fully verified by end-buyers to be suitable for the top demand markets for flake graphite: refractories, lithium-ion batteries and specialty graphite foils
    • Can achieve near battery-grade purity (>98%) with simple flotation alone
  • $US353/t (ex-plant) production cost establishes Molo as a lower quartile producer of graphite and can compete directly with Chinese flake mine OpEx costs, which range from $350-$900/tonne ex-plant.
  • Environmental and social responsibility studies conducted to highest international standards
  • Deposit immediately at surface with negligible strip ratio results in low-cost open pit mining
    • No overburden
    • 0.81:1 waster-to-ore ratio
    • Continuous mineralization throughout
    • Open along strike and at depth
  • Fully de-risked metallurgy with simple processing flow sheet
  • Project closely located to top purchasing demand markets for graphite: China, Japan, South Korea and India
  • Madagascar government-supported project
    • On June 26, 2014 U.S. President Obama reinstated Madagascar to the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), as a preferred trading partner
    • $Billion+ mining projects already established in-country
    • Molo Project "perfectly situated" in arid region, away from any ecologically sensitive areas with very little flora, fauna and population density
    • Mining industry viewed as very positive by government and a key growth engine
