Playfair Mining Ltd.
Playfair Mining is a mineral exploration company based in Canada. Playfair Mining is currently focused on the discovery of a significant high-grade gold deposit in the Republic of Ireland. The Ox Mountain property has yielded new discoveries of gold in bedrock and in locally derived angular blocks, providing recognition and confirmation of the Ox Mountains as a new emerging district for the discovery of gold.
Playfair's first phase of drilling in its search for another multi-million ounce deposit, has led to the discovery of a major gold bearing structure at Cloonacool. In the short term Playfair plans to advance the Ox Mountain gold discoveries by drilling.
Playfair is led by a highly experienced management team and board with a history of mining discoveries and development. The exciting Ox Mountain project has the potential to yield a multi-million ounce gold deposit.
Ox Mountain Gold Project, County Sligo, Ireland
Playfair Mining has entered into an Option Agreement to acquire up to a 100% interest in Bowpark Exploration (Ireland) Ltd. Bowpark is a private company registered in Ireland and holds as its sole asset 3 contiguous prospecting licenses over the Ox Mountains in County Sligo, Ireland.
Before Playfair, Bowpark's initial prospecting discovered two previously unknown areas with angular, locally-derived blocks containing significant gold.
Following extensive prospecting Bowpark discovered gold occurrences in two areas, Cloonacool and Cabragh some11 kilometers apart. Bowpark then reduced the mineral rights to 139 square kilometers and entered into an agreement with Playfair. The agreement provides that Playfair may, over time in 4 tranches, acquire a 90% interest in Bowpark by expending $2,280,000 directly on exploration and delivering 1,800,000 shares of Playfair to the current owners of Bowpark. It also includes a mechanism for Playfair to acquire the final 10% of Bowpark.
Playfair is funding Bowpark to advance exploration at both Cloonacool and Cabragh. Additional occurrences have been found including three bedrock showings, one of which yielded 17.4 gpt gold over 0.5 metres. Locally derived angular blocks have assayed up to 33.5 gpt gold at Cabragh and up to 17.2 gpt gold at Cloonacool. The occurrences are associated with regional splays off major structures similar to Curraghinalt. Drilling is underway, the next 1,500 meter phase to commence first quarter 2017.
